Andrew "Staz" Staszewski
April 23, 1983 April 27, 2006

Andrew "Staz" Staszewski, lost his battle with cancer on April 27, at 9:30 p.m.  Born April 23, 1983, Staz was only 23 year and 4 days old.

Andrew was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2005.  Osteosarcoma is a form of aggressive bone cancer and is very rare for someone Andrew's age.  Andy underwent chemotherapy treatments at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  Even though Andy was 22-years-old when he was diagnosed with the cancer, the foremost experts in this type of cancer were located at CHOP.

Andrew was a 2001 graduate of Collingswood High School.  He was a charter member of the Collingswood Fire Explorer program at the age of 14 years.  He was a Firefighter/EMT and a member of FMBA Local #108.

In addition to his love for the fire service, Staz loved riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and was a Charter Member of the Camden County Chapter of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club in New Jersey.

Andrew's brother firemen held a head shaving fund-raising event in October of 2005 to show support for Andy who was losing his hair due to the chemotherapy.

God took my friend, my brother.  He fought this shit with all his might.  He rode up to Elmira in 2005 for the Camden County patching party even though he was in a lot of pain.

Staz was diagnosed with cancer when we got home from the party.

Staz loved the TV show COPS.  He watched it like it was church and knew every episode that was playing.  If you even thought about changing the channel he would get nuts.  Well, his mother said they had Cops on the TV when God took him.  He left us watching his favorite show.

I love you and miss you my brother.          Taco
